District 13 Sharing Session

AA District 13 is hosting a Sharing Session on Saturday, November 7, 2026, from 2:00–5:00 p.m. in Red Deer, Alberta, and we are calling on experienced AA members and trusted servants from across the Fellowship for their help. Serious questions have arisen regarding the application of AA’s Traditions in Central Alberta, and we need the knowledge, experience, and support of our wider Fellowship. Our purpose is to strengthen AA unity through education, open discussion, and a shared understanding of the principles that guide us—not to create controversy or division.
Our current Central Office operates as a privately owned business, now transitioning into a society, rather than an Intergroup accountable to the AA groups it serves. Right now, it is not a society. This has raised significant concerns regarding transparency, financial accountability, group conscience, and adherence to AA’s Traditions, particularly Traditions Two, Seven, and Nine. We believe the best way forward is through accurate information, informed group conscience, and the collective experience of our Fellowship. We need your help to bring clarity to these issues and ensure that AA’s Traditions are understood and respected in Central Alberta. These principles matter not only to District 13, but to AA as a whole.
We are asking you to come, share your experience, and help us foster understanding and unity through sound AA principles. We are seeking speakers knowledgeable about Intergroups, Central Offices, and AA’s service structure, with approximately 10 minutes allotted to each, followed by questions from the floor. This is not about personalities, assigning blame, or taking sides. It is about providing members with the information they need to make informed decisions and ensuring that our common welfare comes first.
